Dogechain Remembers - The Machine Age 🏭 🥩 With the veDC staking model up and running, our dev team could start thinking about optimizing certain functionalities of Dogechain. ✨ As the chain of memes and dreams, a huge traction point of the network was the hundreds of meme tokens that appeared out of nowhere. 🚀 These memes contributed to the growth of the community and provided incredible usage for #DOGE as a trading mechanism for degen tradeFi. 🍯 However, some of these tokens turned out to be outright rugpulls or honeypots, which discouraged a lot of users from participating in further trading. So much so, that the memecoin volume significantly decreased. 🧑‍💻 Moreover, the Dogechain community is majorly made up of Web3 novices, that don’t have coding experience. This prevented active members from creating their own tokens and spinning up new and exciting communities. 🧰 As an answer, the Dogechain dev team created the Build-A-Doge workshop. This no-code platform allows projects to launch their DOG-20 tokens easily and focus on building their communities. 🐶🤝🐶 More importantly, Build-A-Doge uses a standard smart contract template for these tokens which ensures that there is no hidden malicious code. Dogechain Remembers - The Industrial Age 🚂 🔥 The Great Burn sparked massive interest in the Dogechain ecosystem and the token itself. 🆙 With the number of $DC holders growing exponentially by the day, it was imperative to provide these users with more utility for their tokens 🔒 The next major addition to the ecosystem in the pipeline was the staking mechanism for $DC. This would allow users to participate actively in securing the network and the governance system. 🔭 Following their experience in other successful projects, the Dogechain team had a unique, and hopefully optimal solution for the long-term vision of the project. 🥇 Instead of using typical staking, the team opted for a vote escrow mechanism called veDC. Although this archetype was previously explored in lending protocols, this was a unique approach for a blockchain token. In this model, $DC tokens themselves cannot be staked or used for voting. Instead, users need to lock their $DC tokens to receive veDC tokens, which can be fully used in the ecosystem. ⌛️ Moreover, users can lock their $DC tokens for various lengths of time, from 1 month and up to 4 years. The longer they lock their tokens, the more veDC they receive, up to 8x the amount! The model provides multiple benefits: 🔹 Provides flexibility to users by allowing them to lock their tokens in mixed timeframes. 🔹 Users with humble holdings can access high staking yields and more voting power by committing to long-term lockups. 🔹 Reduces the selling pressure from airdrops, grants, and rewards. 🔹 Constricts the circulating supply and provides on-chain evidence of lockups. 🔹 Incentivizes long-term holding by providing higher yields for longer lockup periods. 💰 Instead of rewarding users for buying more tokens, they are rewarded for their long-term conviction in the Dogechain project. And the crypto environment was super serious business 🤨 🐶 Then came $DOGE and brought much-needed lightheartedness to the space. It allowed the meme community to become a driving force in blockchain and contribute immensely to spreading crypto to the mainstream public. 🚪 @dogecoin quickly became the gateway crypto, allowing users to participate in this growing industry and socialize in a fun way, without any of the pressure or baggage other coins were bringing. Over the years, blockchain evolved and brought incredible utility to users, welcoming DeFi and NFTs.
