We gathered valuable feedback, and made some changes to the ruleset we initially published. The Meme Revolution will be carried out in 3 phases: Phase 1 - The Social Battle 🥊 In this phase, community members and projects will be able to reply to the Revolution Tweet from the Dogechain Twitter account and mention their meme token. 🔸 The community will be able to engage with their reply to gather points (like = 1 pt, retweet = 2 pts, comment = 3 pts, mention = 5pts). 🔸 The Social Battle will last for 5 days. 🔸 The Dogechain team will select up to 10 projects (instead of the previous 3) that will go in the next phase. Tiered Burn Vote Indecision 🔥 Shibes, The voting for the Tiered Burn has concluded without reaching a quorum. 😮‍💨 That said, we also understand that in these market conditions, veDC holders aren’t too keen on giving up their staking rewards for voting on governance. Moreover, participation in governance programs throughout the industry has been quite low, rarely involving more than 5% of users. The 5 billion $veDC threshold was set up as 25% of the veDC circulating supply, although we now believe this was unrealistically high. Especially considering the mechanics and dynamics of veDC tokens, requiring withdrawal from validators and locking tokens. So let’s get to the bottom of this, shall we? 👇 Q: What do I need to vote? 🔸 Voting on dogegress.dog requires veDC tokens. These are obtained by locking DOG-20 $DC tokens in the vote-escrow model found here: 🔒 https://dive.dogechain.dog/pos/locker 🔸 The locker provides you with exponentially higher amounts of veDC the longer you lock your $DC tokens, up to 8x for 4-year timelocks. This allows long-term supporters to have stronger voting power, even with modest holdings. Q: What $DC tokens are eligible? 🔸 Only DOG-20 $DC residing on Dogechain are eligible in the veDC model. Dogechain Explains - Bitcoin Ordinals 🪙 Bitcoin is the original cryptocurrency, and until recently, it was mainly used for storing and transferring value. Bitcoin ordinals are changing this. 😇 🔢 The Ordinals protocol is a system for numbering satoshis, the smallest denomination of Bitcoin. It gives each satoshi a serial number and tracks them across transactions. ⛏ Satoshis are numbered based on the order in which they were mined and transferred, hence the name “ordinals”. 🧊 Ordinal inscriptions are similar to smart contract NFTs in some ways, in that they can hold additional data. However, they are also inscribed directly onto individual satoshis, which are then included in blocks on the Bitcoin blockchain. Unlike NFTs, ordinals reside fully on the blockchain and do not require a separate token. In this sense, ordinal inscriptions respect the BTC ethos and inherit its simplicity, immutability, security, and durability. 🧘 💯 Ordinals have a major advantage - they provide added utility to the Bitcoin blockchain beyond simply transferring value. 🧭 However, inscribed satoshis are now competing for block space with regular BTC transactions, which increases network fees significantly. 💢 This has caused some major controversy within the Bitcoin crowd, where some see them as an attack on the network’s integrity.
