Did you know - What makes veDC staking different ❓
Many PoS protocols require that users stake their native tokens directly with validators. While this is pretty straightforward, it has a major flaw. 🥴
🐳 In this case, staking directly rewards whales.
The only way to get more rewards is to purchase more tokens, which means deeper pockets can hoard most of the emissions.
🔒 To address this, Dogechain utilizes a unique #ve staking model.
Users first need to lock their $DC tokens which provides them with $veDC tokens.
These $veDC tokens can be staked, and cannot be sold or transferred.
🚀 However, the difference resides in the commitment from the user.
Locking their $DC longer means that users receive more $veDC (up to 8x). This immediately translates into higher staking rewards. 🤑
💰 As a result, instead of being rewarded for buying more tokens, users are rewarded for their long-term conviction in the Dogechain project.
In a nutshell, the veDC model solidifies Dogechain as a community-focused project. 🤝
